In this capacity, the Technology Director has oversight of all team resources, projects work occurring within the department and technology direction for the area of the business. The Technology Director will strategically design and establish network and telecommunication structures that support the core business functions and assure high availability. The Director is responsible for providing technical and engineering support across the organization and is also responsible for managing the daily task accomplishments of the Network and Telecom team.

Responsibilities:
Provide oversight to projects and related tasks that meet cost, schedule and resource constraints.
Responsible for interviewing and hiring of team members and coaching as needed.
Ability to plan ongoing support requirements for a team based on current Incremental project work, ability to foresee increases and decreases in support hours against Incremental initiatives.
Ownership of department’s 18-month rolling Technology Roadmap.
Ability to work with business stakeholders to prioritize and define business objectives for both short and long-term planning.
Ownership of all department and project budgets from a Capital and Operating expense perspective.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Management Information Systems, Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience preferred
Experience in ACI, SD-WAN, F5, Cisco or Palo Alto, Cisco Voice, Cisco ISE ideal
15+ years of experience in information technology with cross-functional experience across major IT competencies, application development, infrastructure, mobile, etc.
5+ years managing both department level resources and large project teams
Experience in a Fortune 2000 and/or large publicly held enterprise is ideal
Experience developing best practices in project management methodologies and guiding others to successfully execute project management of a full project lifecycle
Extensive experience with Cisco tools/platforms; oversight and implementation/migration of new technologies.

Position Summary
The National Technology Director – Network and Telecommunications is responsible for providing leadership and direction at a department level within the IT organization for a specific competency. In this capacity, the Technology Director has oversight of all team resources, projects work occurring within the department and technology direction for the area of the business. The Technology Director will strategically design and establish network and telecommunication structures that support the core business functions and assure high availability. The Director is responsible for providing technical and engineering support across the organization and is also responsible for managing the daily task accomplishments of the Network and Telecom team.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
Managerial – Leadership
Understanding of Company Business offerings and services
Ability to understand how to translate business requirements and industry drivers into actionable project work and product roadmap
Own the day-to-day direction of team activities and project milestones
Provide mentoring and guidance to existing staff and career development
Provide oversight to projects and related tasks that meet cost, schedule and resource constraints
Participation in the development and implementation of department policies
Responsible for interviewing and hiring of team members and coaching as needed
Strategic Direction
Ability to drive 60-65% of team effort toward Foundational work, Foundational is defined as exploiting and expanding existing assets (systems, applications, infrastructure, etc.) for incremental value add
Ability to drive 35-40% of team effort toward Incremental work, Incremental is defined as net new IT enablement through the implementation of additional systems, applications, infrastructure, etc.
Recommended participation in Company innovation programs
Ability to plan ongoing support requirements for team based on current Incremental project work, ability to foresee increases and decreases in support hours against Incremental initiatives
Ability to work with business stakeholders to develop ROI for initiatives and prove value of investment
Ownership of department’s 18-month rolling Technology Roadmap
Stakeholder Relationships
Ability to work with business stakeholders to prioritize and define business objectives for both short and long term planning
Own a defined communication plan for stakeholders that include specific deliverables on a set frequency (e.g.: daily calls, weekly or monthly status reports, quarterly roadmaps, etc.)
Foster, develop and maintain relationships with key Company executives through project efforts
Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction with stakeholder group(s)
Supportive of clients need
General Administration
Ownership of all department and project budgets from a Capital and Operating expense perspective
Provide a monthly status report update to VP for company communication
Take accountability for individual and team annual goal setting exercises
Take accountability for completion of annual performance reviews for all team members
Supervisory Responsibilities
Direct Reports
Hires, retains, trains, coaches, guides, directs, and develops direct reports using company-wide processes, tools and resources
Indirect Reports
May delegate work of others and provide guidance, direction and mentoring to indirect reports
Travel and/or Driving Requirements
Travel and Driving are essential duties and function of this job
Travel up to 5 %
Minimum Qualifications
Education Level: (Required): Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
(Preferred): Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
Field of Study/Area of Experience: business, management information systems, computer science or related field.
PMI Certification desired but not required
10+ years of experience in information technology with cross-functional experience across major IT competencies, application development, infrastructure, mobile, etc.
5+ years managing both department level resources and large project teams
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
Experience developing best practices in project management methodologies and guiding others to successfully execute project management of a full project lifecycle
Experience developing useful project metrics and applying those metrics
Experience managing multiple complex projects concurrently. Complex projects could be defined by the following factors:
Size and duration of project
Multiple stakeholders
External data/system dependencies
Build and develop a high functioning team
Ability to successfully delegate responsibilities and tasks to others
Advanced organization and project management skills
Advanced written and oral communication skills with proven ability to deliver clear messages, set expectations, and build relationships with all groups, even when delivering a tough message
Create and maintain a positive work environment by motivating and managing people
Strong sense of urgency with exemplary customer service skills

Incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job. Work is performed primarily in an office environment. Typically requires the ability to sit for extended periods of time (66%+ each day), ability to hear the telephone, ability to enter data on a computer and may also require the ability to lift up to 10 pounds.
