Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic creative direction and guidance to art directors, graphic designers, and other team members.

  • Mentor and develop the skills of team members, empowering them to excel in their roles.

  • Collaborate closely with copywriters to ensure the highest quality of written content across campaigns and projects.

  • Provide guidance and feedback on copy, ensuring it aligns with brand guidelines, client objectives, and overall creative vision.

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to develop breakthrough creative concepts for integrated campaigns.

  • Push the boundaries of design and copy, ensuring visually stunning and impactful executions with engaging and persuasive messaging.

  • Maintain an unwavering commitment to attention to detail, ensuring the highest quality standards in all design and written deliverables.

  • Ensure seamless project execution, adhering to timelines, budgets, and client expectations.

  • Conduct rigorous quality assurance (QA) checks to guarantee accuracy, consistency, and compliance with accessibility guidelines.

  • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices, integrating them into design and written processes and outputs.

  • Actively participate in client meetings, effectively presenting and articulating design and copy concepts.

  • Cultivate strong client relationships, understanding their brand guidelines, strategic objectives, and accessibility requirements.

  • Collaborate closely with account managers, project managers, and cross-functional teams to ensure client satisfaction and project success.

  • Set high standards for creative quality, innovation, and accessibility, ensuring all deliverables meet or exceed industry benchmarks.

  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, inspiring the team to explore new design techniques and stay at the forefront of industry trends.

  • Conduct regular accessibility audits, providing guidance and expertise to ensure compliance with accessibility standards.

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in a creative agency or in-house environment, with a strong focus on art and design.

  • Demonstrable success in developing and executing global integrated campaigns across various mediums.

  • Expert knowledge of design principles, typography, color theory, and layout composition.

  • Proficiency in design software and tools, including Adobe Creative Suite and other relevant platforms.

  • Strong attention to detail, with a meticulous approach to delivering accurate and error-free design work.

  • Experience and knowledge of accessibility design principles and guidelines.

  • Proven leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a creative team.

  • Excellent project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

  • A passion for staying updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and advancements in design and accessibility.

The salary range for this role is $160,000-$175,000.

Responsibilities

Position Summary

The Creative Director (CD) directs the creative vision for the business and strategic planning. CD will partner with account leaders in strategic thinking to define project assignments and develop and execute creative solutions. They manage the creative standards, both art and copy, while leading the creative team. They will oversee assigned projects and new business opportunities, ensuring they are the best demonstration of the agency’s capabilities. They will develop and assess individual team member’s technical skills, professional techniques, training needs, and professional growth.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Direct Reports

Hires, retains, trains, coaches, guides, directs, and develops direct reports using company-wide processes, tools and resources

May delegate work of others and provide guidance, direction and mentoring to indirect reports

Minimum Qualifications

Education Level: (Required) Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

Field of Study/Area of Experience: Advertising, Graphic Design, Communications or Journalism, or related field

  • 8+ years of experience in industry with at least 2 years in the arena of sales promotions and 5 years consumer products, media, or agency experience

  • Prior experience managing copywriters or directing art/design (advertising, promotion, and interactive media)

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

  • Well-organized, detail-oriented, and able to handle a fast-paced work environment

  • Excellent written communication and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to make oral presentations

  • Strong computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, and web-browsers

  • Ability to complete multiple duties with accuracy shifting from one to another with frequent interruptions and competing deadlines

  • Good interpersonal skills

Incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job. Work is performed primarily in an office environment. Typically requires the ability to sit for extended periods of time (66%+ each day), ability to hear the telephone, ability to enter data on a computer and may also require the ability to lift up to 10 pounds.
