Summary

KEY ACCOUNT SALES SPECIALIST

The Team:

The JLB Sales/Account Manager team provides a high-level partnership to drive our vendor partners sales at Target. Our approach to Account Management is to provide our vendor partners with elevated analytics and actionable recommendations that lead to growth.

The Role:

We are seeking a talented individual to join our organization as part of our Sales team. Someone who is passionate about sales, product and retail. In this role you will execute the merchandise and logistical needs of the Account Management team and vendor partners to help manage and profitably grow our business.

What You’ll Do:

  • Be an advocate on behalf of assigned vendors to help them solve problems, understand the needs of Target, and be successful in their business.

  • Communicate effectively with vendors and Target’s MS and IDS positions to build positive

relationships, and translate needs to achieve positive outcomes.

  • Assist with executing foundational program tasks for Account management team

  • Report Pulling: Weekly Reporting, Ad-Hoc Reports, etc..

  • Demonstrate an ability to collaborate effectively across multiple divisions at JLB to meet

business needs.

  • Become an expert on the item setup and item maintenance process

  • Assist the logistics division in initiating communication with Target regarding shipment related

issues.

  • Responsible for on-going item accuracy, audits and maintenance both for Target stores and

Online

  • Maintain master item listings for each of your vendors

  • Manage Buyer requests with Account Manager including but not limited to samples, labeling

and planogram requests

  • Identify opportunities within your own role in addition to your vendor, to simplify processes and

  • Drive efficiencies and work cross-functionally to implement guidance and training to improve

them

  • Help Account Manager prepare for line reviews, “Top-to-Tops”, and other key meetings

  • Assist with executing foundational program tasks for Account management team: Weekly

  • Reporting, Ad-Hoc Reports, forecast validation, etc..

Responsibilities

Essential Responsibilities

Revenue Budget Achievement

• Research and implement effective strategies for clients so they can meet business objectives, including revenue and market share objectives

• Make recommendations for how clients can achieve financial targets

Analysis and Presentations

• Analyze data to identify trends and recommend opportunities for improvement and reduce competitive threats

• Develop and conduct negotiations to maximize profitability and maintain positive relationships

• Build sales presentations for key clients and make client recommendations for customer presentations

Client Key Performance Indicators Achievement

• Analyze performance metrics of assigned clients and make recommendations for improvement

• Recommend ways to improve business margin for clients and recommend action plans

• Strategize on how to maximize marketing spend to achieve client’s financial goals.

• Review marketing schematics on behalf of customers, and coordinate closely with cross-functional stakeholders in our schematic, reset and retail departments

Data Systems & Reporting

• Drive cross-collaboration among all other internal teams

• Analyze data reports to ensure financial performance meets forecasted targets

• Drive alignment across KAMs, highlighting key opportunities and challenges and also suggesting resolutions to issues

Direct Reports

  • This position does not have supervisory responsibilities for direct reports

Indirect Reports

  • Does not have direct reports, but may delegate work of others and provide guidance, direction and mentoring to indirect reports

Minimum Qualifications

Education Level: (Required): Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

1-3+ Years of experience with grocery operations, including promotional planning activities, systems experience preferred.

Incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job. Work is performed primarily in an office environment. Typically, requires the abilty to sit for extended periods of time (66%+ each day), ability to hear telephone, ability to enter data on a computer and may require the ability to lift up to 10lbs.
