Vice President Retail Operations

As a member of the management team, the VP Retail Operations participates in team management, performance management, strategic planning, budgeting and forecasting initiatives, and systems initiatives, in addition to problem-solving and process development for the department. The responsibilities of this position include Operations, Sales and Finance for the business unit.
This position will be responsible for establishing and maintaining strong relationships with the retailer and clients. Responsibilities:
Support the “Customer as Clients” initiative by identifying services that Retail Operations can provide externally; develop and launch strategy to pursue the opportunity.
Ensure that training and development support efficient and compliant operations and those leaders at the highest level of operations are aligned around this objective.
Oversee P&L targets; oversee business unit resources to deliver EBITDA* objective [*Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation, and Amortization].
Lead team to identify and implement process efficiencies as appropriate.
Responsible for hiring, developing, and retaining talent using company-wide processes, tools and resources. Responsible for building a high performing team with complementary skill sets.
Perform regular assessments of strengths and opportunities within the team and deploy an appropriate course of action to develop or manage performance.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degreeor equivalent experiencerequired;MBA Degree or equivalent experiencepreferred
8+ years of experience in sales, consumer packaged goods, and/or food brokerage organization or equivalent
8+ years successfully managing a P&L, budgeting and forecasting, and managing client expectations either personally or through a team
Ability to develop strategic plans to grow the business; Ability to visualize and plan objectives and goals strategically
Skill in supervising to include delegating responsibility, training and evaluating the performance
Understanding the nuances and intricacies of the merchandising industry

Job Duty
Alignment
Support the “Customer as Clients” initiative by identifying services that Retail Operations can provide externally; develop and launch strategy to pursue opportunity
Ensure that training and development supports efficient and compliant operations and that leaders at the highest level of operations are aligned around this objective
Direct team in navigating the larger Company organization to align needed resources and support to ensure specific initiative success
Direct teams to establish open and regular communication with the business units that they support so that they can accurately access business needs and adjust resources as needed
Financial
Oversee P&L targets; oversee business unit resources to deliver EBITDA* objective [*Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation, and Amortization]
Lead team to identify and implement process efficiencies as appropriate
Support team in developing the strategy to align resources to secure business growth; coordinate with other senior level members to achieve goals
People Development
Responsible for hiring, developing, and retaining talent using company-wide processes, tools and resources
Perform regular assessments of strengths and opportunities within the team and deploy appropriate course of action to develop or manage performance
Responsible for building a high performing team with complimentary skill sets
Execute all aspects of the performance management culture, including development discussions and creation of Individual Development Plans, regular coaching and feedback, Performance Improvement Plan creation and delivery
Promote a culture of pay for performance
Supervisory Responsibilities
Direct Reports
- Hires, retains, trains, coaches, guides, directs, and develops direct reports using company-wide processes, tools and resources
Indirect Reports
- May delegate work of others and provide guidance, direction and mentoring to indirect reports
Travel and/or Driving Requirements
Travel and Driving are essential duties and function of this job

Minimum Qualifications
The following are the minimum job-related qualifications which an individual needs in order to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the job
Education Level: (Required) Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
(Preferred) Master's Degree or equivalent experience
8+ years of experience in sales, consumer packaged goods, and/or food brokerage organization or equivalent
8+ years successfully managing a P&L, budgeting and forecasting, and managing client expectations either personally or through a team
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
Ability to develop strategic plans to grow the business
Ability to visualize and plan objectives and goals strategically

Incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job. Work is performed primarily in an office environment. Typically requires the ability to sit for extended periods of time (66%+ each day), ability to hear the telephone, ability to enter data on a computer and may also require the ability to lift up to 10 pounds.
